On December 3, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received new Ambassador Extrordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Turkmenistan Luciano Galli, who presented his credentials to the Leader of the Nation.
The diplomat has conveyed cordial greetings as well as congratulations on coming 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality to the Head of the State from the President and Prime Minister of his country, who addressed their best wishes to all Turkmen people.
At the same time, invariable interest of Italy in development of fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan, which pursues constructive foreign course and holds active position in international partnership, has been confirmed.
Having returned warm greetings to the top officials of the Republic of Italy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mr. Luciano Galli on appointment to the responsible diplomatic position and wished him success in fulfilment of this mission.
Continuing the meeting, the Head of the State and Italian diplomat have shared the opinions on current conditions and future of bilateral cooperation, having highlighted the availability of significant potential for expansion and diversification of productive relations in trade and economic sphere.
President and Italian diplomat have unanimously mention fuel and energy sector, industrial complex, light industry and some other spheres among priority directions of cooperation.
During telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has made a proposal on establishment of bilateral Business Council or relative Working group as well as on organization of annual Days of Italian Economy in Turkmenistan and opening of Trade representative office of our country in Milano.
In humanitarian sphere, long joint work of Turkmen and Italian archaeologists at unique historical and cultural monuments located in Turkmenistan has been brought as an example.
Productive contacts have been established with leading profile centers of Italy. The Italian language is studied in number of Turkmen universities on systematic base. Strengthening of cooperation in health care spheres seems actual taking into account modern challenges.
Turkmenistan – Italy cultural dialog, about currency of which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has said during the above-mentioned telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Italy, could be permanent platform for joint humanitarian projects.
Turkmen –Italian cooperation in cultural and art sphere has an old and good traditions. It is remarkable that Italy has already had an opportunity to enjoy the skill of Turkmen horse riders of the Galkynysh Natioanl Equestrian Game Group.
The group took part in XVI International Circus Art Festival in Italian Latina in October 2014.
Our horse riders have demonstrated highest level of fancy horse riding on ahalteke horses and won the main prize of the contest, the Latina 2014 Gold Cup, as well as number of other awards like Di Albacete, Consegina il Premo, Comune Di Latina and Diploma of Ahalteke Equestrian Association of Italy.
During the conversation, the Head of the State and authorized representative of Italy have also mentioned constructive character of the partnership under the UN and other international organization, where both sides demonstrate understanding as well as proximity or similarity of positions on current subjects of regional and global agenda.
In the end of the meeting, having expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for time spared for development of interstate relations, the diplomat assured that he would put all efforts for strengthening of traditional Turkmen – Italian dialog of friendship and cooperation, which is built on equal, trustful base meets mutual long-term interests.
